This beautiful blend of herbs is certainly one of my favourites!

I experience immediate, noticeable results when using this tea to sooth my digestive upset.

After indulging in certain foods which don’t agree with my body and aggravate my colitis, this is the perfect herbal blend to ease my discomfort.

I like to use this tea around meals.

All Organic Ingredients:

  • Fennel Seeds
  • Marshmallow Root
  • Chamomile
  • Calendula

I find the combination of fennel and chamomile are the perfect herbs to stimulate my digestion as well as settle any cramping, bloating, or other indigestion symptoms I may be experiencing after eating.

Also this tea is very helpful for me before meals to prepare my digestive system for the food which is about to come in, with the stimulating actions of the fennel and chamomile.

Another great benefit I get from this blend is the soothing, mucilaginous qualities of the marshmallow root which really help reduce any bowl inflammation I may have.  It feels so nice to have that cool, moistening action of the marshmallow root travel through my digestive tract and ease any discomfort along the way.

I’ve also found the added benefits of calendula in repairing any physical damage done in my digestive tract to really help bring my body back into balance when dealing with bouts of colitis.

I get best results with this tea by brewing up a large amount at once, usually a 1 liter mason jar.  This way I have the tea readily available and I can sip on it throughout the day without having to make a fresh cup each time.

The second key for my success with this tea is steeping it for a super long time so I can get the most goodness out of the herbs.  I do this by simply placing about 1 teaspoon of herb per cup of water (so 3-4 tsps in 1 liter mason jar) in the jar and then pouring the hot water over the herbs in the jar and leaving it for the rest of the day to steep.

I don’t strain out the herbs while I drink from the jar, as I find they continue to enhance the effectiveness of the tea by steeping longer.  Over the day, the tea gets stronger and I find it works better for me.  I often store it in the refrigerator as it cools down so it keeps even longer and if I don’t drink it all in one day, it is still good the next day.

Finally, I find this tea blend to work best for me when I drink a cup or so about 30 minutes after meals.  This is very soothing to my digestive system and helps take stress off my bowls by relieving any indigestion I may be experiencing.

I also like to take a few sips 5 – 10 minutes before each time I eat.  This way I notice the tea stimulates my digestion and prepares my body to receive the food I am about to ingest, thus enhancing my digestive ability.

It also seems to coat my still empty digestive tract with the cool, mucilaginous goodness from the marshmallow root. These herbs have helped me so much and I would love for you to also experience the help they have to offer.
